Biographical Encyclopedia of People In Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research

By Richard Sands, Staff Writer

We are familiar with traditional encyclopedias of science and literature, but an encyclopedia of Ufologists and researchers of the paranormal? Well, yes, it did happen! Amazon.com Publishing Company with the collaboration of Times Square Press have just released the first volume of a massive work "Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research", written by the legendary Maximillien de Lafayette who has to his credits 118 books and an astonishing number of reference books on culture, religion, art, civilization and international law. Needles to say, this encyclopedia is quite unique in essence and concept. It contains the profiles, biographies and career highlights of the most prominent personalities of Ufology, ranging from hypnotherapists, psychologists, and university professors, to theologians, debunkers and believers. According to London-based Carol Lexter, editor of this most impressive work, only those who have made their mark in the field are written up in the encyclopedia. One of the criteria for inclusion requires a solid academic background and authorship. In other words, serious writers, scientists, researchers, hypnotherapists,  and highly respected Ufologists graced the pages of the encyclopedia. Lexter added: "The roster  of the personalities written up in the book includes some of the most brilliant minds in various cultural, educational and scientific disciplines...and who sincerely believe in extraterrestrial civilizations and paranormal faculties." Lexter did mention some of these names. And in fact, Lexter did focus on their credentials, the respect they enjoy in the community and their authorship. Lexter also said that only those who are known for their serious research and bona fide academic credentials are featured in the encyclopedia. Among the honorees are Dr William Birnes, Nancy Hayfield Birns, Alexandra "Chica" Bruce, Richard Dolan, Dr Richard Boylan, Dr Michael Salla, Dr David Jacobs, Barbara Lamb, Mary Rodwell, Dr  Lynne D. Kitei, Ellie Crystal, and Joan Ocean, a researcher and world-renowned speaker on the subject of free-swimming dolphins and whales. An author and video producer, Joan’s internationally acclaimed books have been published in more than seven languages.

"Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research" is a gigantic work. As such, it should serve the ufology community as a major source of information in the field. It is authoritative, well-written, elegantly printed and abundant with profiles and biographies. The massive book  of 740 pages is available almost everywhere, and here in London, you can browse it in major book stores and public libraries. It is also available at amazon.com

Alan Alda: "I think the guy who winds up at the end of the book would say, 'Destiny is just what happens." Alan Alda titled his new book Never Have Your Dog Stuffed -- and Other Things I've Learned. But rest assured he didn't write it as a guide for self-improvement. He doesn't aim to be your guru. "I tried to tell as good a story as I could," he sums up. The resulting narrative, at 224 pages, is as lean as its author, and as engaging, and as flush with ideas and observations. "There are things that were very, very difficult to put into words," says Alda, at 69 an entertainment veteran actor who had written numerous screenplays but never a book. "That was what I had the most fun with - the things that don't want to go into words...
