Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time reveals its latest look

On the official Twitter account for the Neon Genesis Evangelion multimedia project, the last promotional image for the Evangelion film: 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, the last part of the Rebuild of Evangelion film project, was posted. The image promotes the premiere of Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.01 Thrice Upon a Time, the revised version of the feature film with revisions to the animation but no changes to the story, which will be released on June 12 in Japan.

Finally, the film was released in Japanese theaters on March 8 and as of May 30 it has accumulated more than 8.6 billion yen (about 78.65 million dollars) in accumulated earnings, being the most successful film both of Neon. Genesis Evangelion as Hideaki Anno. To date, it has not been released outside of Japan and no plans have been announced in this regard, not even on the release in physical formats.

Production team

  • Hideaki Anno was in charge of directing the feature film at Studio Khara, in collaboration with Hiroyasu Kobayashi, Mahiro Maeda and Daisuke Onizuka.
  • Takeishi Honda was in charge of the animation direction.
  • Yutaka Izubuchi was in charge of character design.
  • Shirou Sagisu was in charge of composing the soundtrack.
  • Hikaru Utada performed the title track titled “One Last Kiss.”

Neon Genesis Evangelion Synopsis

In 2015, the world is on the brink of destruction. The last hope of humanity resides in the hands of NERV, a special agency under the command of the United Nations, and its Evangelions, giant robots capable of defeating the Angels who announce the ruin of the Earth. Gendou Ikari, head of the organization, is looking for compatible pilots who can synchronize with the Evangelions and unleash their true potential.

Aiding in this defensive effort are talented strategist Misato Katsuragi, head of Tactical Operations, and Ritsuko Akagi, chief scientist. Face to face with his father for the first time in years, the life of the 14-year-old boy, Shinji Ikari, has to change irreversibly when he is brought to the NERV facilities and discovers his heartbreaking destiny: he must become the pilot of the Evangelion Unit. -01 with the fate of humanity in his hands.
