Fullmetal Alchemist author reveals details of her upcoming manga

Hiromu Arakawa, the author and illustrator of works such as Fullmetal alchemist, Gin no saji (Silver Spoon) and Arslan senki (The Heroic Legend of Arslan), officially announced that it will begin the publication of a new manga titled Yomi no Tsugai (The Hinge of the Underworld), which will begin in the next issue of the magazine Monthly Shonen Gangan, scheduled for December 10 in Japan.

The synopsis is described as follows: «The manga centers on Yuru, a boy who lives in a remote mountain village, spending his time hunting birds and being one with nature. But one day, Asa, Yuru’s younger twin sister, is called to serve in the jail in the heart of the village, her duty also confines her there. Yuru slowly unveils the unnatural mystery that hides under her quiet village».

On the other hand, Arakawa began publishing the manga in the magazine Monthly Shonen Gangan from the publisher Square enix in July 2001 and completed it in June 2010. The publisher compiled the work in a total of 27 volumes. The manga series is one of the best-selling in all of history, with more than 80 million copies sold around the world. The manga was adapted to anime twice, the first in 2003 titled Fullmetal alchemist and the second in 2009 and entitled Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
