Synopsis of Hataraku Saibou

Within the human body, approximately 37.2 trillion cells run on energy 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Fresh out of training, the cheerful and somewhat airhead Sekkekkyuu AE3803 (Erythrocyte AE3803) is ready to take on the ever-important task of carrying oxygen. As usual, Hakkekkyuu U-1146 (Leukocyte U-1146) is working hard to patrol and eliminate foreign bacteria that seek to make the body their new lair. In other places, small tiles are lined up for a new construction project. When dealing with injuries and allergies, getting lost on the way to the lungs, and fighting with similar cell types, the daily life of cells is always hectic as they work together to keep the body healthy.
