In the official Twitter account for the animated adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Akane Shimizu, Hataraku Saibou, it was announced that on November 23 at 7:00 p.m. (Japan Standard Time) there will be a special broadcast through the Japanese platform ABEMA. During this broadcast, new information about the following projects will be revealed:
Second season of the animated adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Akane Shimizu, Hataraku Saibou.
Animated adaptation of the spin-off manga written by Shigemitsu Harada and illustrated by Issei Hatsuyoshiya, Hataraku Saibou Black.
Both productions have their premiere scheduled for January 2021, however, the second season of the original series is produced by David Production studios, while the spin-off manga adaptation is produced by Liden Films studios.
Shimizu has been publishing the original manga in Kodansha publishing house’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine since March 2015, and has inspired a considerable number of spin-off series based on other cell types. After a two-year hiatus, the manga resumed on October 26.
