Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou celebrates final episode

On the official Twitter account for the animated adaptation of the Hige wo Soru light novels. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou (Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took In a High School Runaway), different illustrations were shared to commemorate the broadcast of the thirteenth and final episode. The first illustration was done by Booota, the artist of the original light novels.


The second and third illustrations were made by Imaru Adachi, who is in charge of the manga adaptation of the franchise.

The series aired in Japan during the Spring-2021 season with a total of thirteen episodes, while the Crunchyroll platform handled its distribution in the West. On the other hand, the light novels written by Shimesaba and illustrated by Booota were published through Kadokawa’s Sneaker Bunko imprint since February 2018 and ended with their fifth volume in June 2021.

Production team

  • Manabu Kamikita is in charge of directing the anime at Project No.9 studios. This is his debut in directing a project.

Synopsis of Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou

Clerk Yoshida has been in love with his co-worker Airi Gotou for five years. Despite finally getting a date with her, her confession is quickly rejected. Drunk and disappointed, he staggers home, only to find a high school girl sitting on the side of the road. The girl, who needs a place to spend the night, tries to seduce Yoshida who, despite rejecting her advances, invites her to her apartment.

The next morning, the girl, introducing herself as Sayu Ogiwara, reveals that she has escaped from Hokkaido to Tokyo. During their six-month spree, she continually traded favors for a roof over her head. Yoshida, however, is not convinced by her seduction. Instead, he asks her to do a different kind of work, one that involves washing dishes and doing laundry. And so begins a heartwarming relationship between a heartbroken adult and a runaway high school girl.
