Jordan Peele not only grows around projects as a producer, which are quite a few. He is also already preparing what will be his third feature film as a director, to which Universal Pictures has not hesitated to assign a most optimistic release date: July 22, 2022.
The acclaimed author of Let Me Out (2017; with which he won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay) and We (2019) will return to the horror genre in his next film, but any more details about the plot or the cast remain in the most strict secrecy for the moment. Of course, Universal presents the premiere as one of the great events of its future calendar.
“I have about four more ideas for high social thrillers that I would like to do over the next decade,” said Jordan Peele after the premiere of We Recall on IndieWire. So it is likely that these statements are the first clues about the next of the filmmaker.
“The most terrifying monsters are human beings, and all that we are capable of when we get together. I have worked on that premise with different social demons, inherently human monsters that are part of the fabric of our thoughts and relationships. Each of my films will be about one of those demons, “he said.
Meanwhile, Jordan Peele also has a few projects as a producer going. Although on the small screen both Lovecraft Territory and the second season of The Twilight Zone revival have ended, in theaters he is still awaiting the sequel to Candyman that he has produced with Nina DaCosta as director.
And let’s remember that Peele is also behind Henry Selick’s upcoming stop-motion film: Wendell & Wild.
