Khloe Kardashian Reveals Name of Her Son
After ten months of anticipation, Khloe Kardashian has finally revealed the name of her son. The reality TV star had kept the name tightly under wraps since the birth of her son via surrogate with former boyfriend Tristan Thompson in July last year. However, according to the US Sun, Kardashian has named her son Tatum Robert.
Kardashian had been planning to reveal the name on the next season of The Kardashians, which will air on May 25. However, the cat is now out of the bag, and fans of the reality TV star are finally getting a glimpse into her baby’s name.
The 38-year-old star wanted her son to have a name beginning with T, as her five-year-old daughter’s name is True. According to sources close to the family, there was talk about whether the baby’s name should be Tatum Robert or Robert Tatum. Kardashian’s late father’s name was Rob, and her brother Rob Kardashian was also named after him.
Despite nudges from her family, Kardashian resisted swapping the names around, and instead, she kept Rob as her child’s middle name to honor her father, who died of cancer in 2003.
“There was talk about whether it should be Tatum Robert or should it be Robert Tatum,” a source told US Sun. “Some in the family were leaning more towards Robert because it honors her dad and her brother. Kris, in particular, was keen for the baby to be called Robert and was steering Khloe towards that.”
Ultimately, Kardashian chose Tatum Robert, which is in keeping with Tristan and True’s names, both of which begin with the letter T. “Khloe wanted a name that was kind of unusual but not too out there and also keeping with the T theme,” the source added.
Tatum and True’s father, Tristan Thompson, is a professional basketball player for the LA Lakers. He also has two other children to two other women. It was revealed that Thompson had cheated on Kardashian with one of them, but despite their relationship breakdown, the pair went on to have Tatum, despite no longer being a couple.
Speaking on the Jennifer Hudson Show in April, Kardashian said that at first, she had no idea what to call her son. “I wanted to meet him and feel him out a little bit, and so at first he didn’t have a name,” she said.
“He’s a happy baby, which is amazing,” Kardashian told Hudson. “My daughter was the same, so I’ve been lucky twice.”
Fans of the Kardashian family have been eagerly anticipating the reveal of the name of Khloe’s son, and now they can finally breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the mystery is over.
