The fourth Blu-ray / DVD compilation of the anime adaptation of the game for smartphones, Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Gaiden, was reported to have accumulated 5,119 copies sold in Blu-ray format and 558 in DVD format, for a total of 5,677 copies. sold in its first week, since its launch on August 5.
This volume includes episodes numbers 8 to 10 and was released at a price of 7,800 yen ($ 75) in its Blu-ray version and 6,800 yen ($ 65) in its DVD version.
On the other hand, the series premiered on January 4 under the production of Shaft studios, directed by Gekidan Inu Curry, who also wrote the scripts while he was assisted by Yukihiro Miyamoto, the director of the original series.
