MAPPA studios celebrate their tenth anniversary

On June 14, 2021, the Maruyama Animation Produce Project Association studios, better known as MAPPA, are celebrating the tenth anniversary of its founding. The studios were founded on June 14, 2011 by Masao Maruyama, a founder and producer of Madhouse Studios. Maruyama retired from MAPPA in April 2016 and founded another studio, Studio M2.


Furthermore, MAPPA studios have been involved in multiple animation productions, including Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the Slope), Zankyou no Terror (Terror in Resonance), Yuri!!! on Ice, Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni (In This Corner of the World), Kakegurui, Banana Fish, Jujutsu Kaisen, Zombieland Saga and the final season of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan). Its headquarters are established in Tokyo, Japan.

His upcoming animation projects include the original anime RE-MAIN, the animated adaptation of the manga Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi and Chainsaw Man, and the second part of the final season of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan). More information about these projects will be revealed at the MAPPA STAGE 2021 -10th Anniversary- event, which will take place on June 27 in Japan.
