Mark Ruffalo to be Ryan Reynold’s father in ‘the Adam Project’

They star in a time travel adventure directed by Shawn Levy ('Night at the Museum', 'Stranger Things') for Netflix.

Mark Ruffalo is only nine years older than Ryan Reynolds, but he will play his father in the new movie that Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum, Pure Steel) is preparing for Netflix. The catch is that The Adam Project is nothing more or less than a time travel adventure: the adult Reynolds will travel back in time to ask his 13-year-old self for help.

Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Garner and Walker Scobell complete the cast of the film, where Catherine Keener will play the villain. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she will be a thief who has stolen technology from the brilliant scientist whom Ruffalo plays. Her son, Reynolds, will have to travel to the past to avoid theft and the tragic fate that awaits her father.

The Adam Project is the new sci-fi, big-budget, high-concept collaboration that Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds develop after they made together Free Guy, the movie about the inside of a video game whose release scheduled for Christmas has been delayed because of of the pandemic.

Levy, who maintains a close collaboration with Netflix thanks to his work as producer and director of Stranger Things episodes, will premiere on the platform this new project written by Jonathan Tropper (Banshee).

In the case of Ruffalo and Reynolds, it will be a great occasion to see the interpreters of Hulk and Deadpool together now that they both share the Marvel Universe, since the next film of the Largemouth Mercenary has already been launched with new writers.
