The editorial Shueisha confirmed the production of an anime adaptation of the manga written by Takahiro and illustrated by Youhei takemura, Mato Seihei no Slave (Slave of the Magic Capital’s Elite Troops). Yuuya hirose and Akari Kitou star in the project as the characters Yuuki Wakura and Kyouka Uzen, respectively, while the studios Seven arcs (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Trinity Seven) handle production. A scheduled premiere date was not confirmed.
Takahiro (who is also the author of the hit franchise Akame ga Kill!) and Takemura began publishing the manga through the service Shonen Jump Plus from the publisher Shueisha in January 2019. The publisher published the seventh compiled volume in April 2021, followed by the eighth in August 2021 in Japan. The work has already exceeded one million copies in accumulated circulation.
Synopsis of Mato Seihei no Slave
When entrances to a different dimension known as the “Mato” spring up all over Japan, a new resource known as “Peaches” is discovered that grants unique abilities only to women. However, dangerous monsters called “Yomotsu Shuuki” also haunt the Mato and are responsible for various disasters since then. To combat them, the government formed the Anti-Demon Corps, an elite group of women who have been empowered by the Peaches.
One day, a high school student named Yuuki Wakura was coming home from school when he suddenly got lost in an entrance to the Mato. When he asks for help, he is immediately rescued by Kyouka Uzen, the head of the Seventh Unit of the Anti-Demon Corps. Recognizing his potential and also needing it to make his Peaches power more effective, he asks Yuuki to join the Anti-Demon Corps by becoming his slave, a position that he might find more enjoyable than he initially thought …
