Perhaps fans of ONE’s manga-based franchise Mob Psycho 100 are overthinking things, but the fact that the official Twitter account started a mysterious countdown (or progressive? As it goes forward) is impossible to deny. It all began on July 12, the day of the fifth anniversary of the animated franchise, where it was written:
“Exactly five years ago the first episode of the animated adaptation of Mob Psycho 100 aired. It is thanks to you, our fans, that we are able to celebrate our fifth anniversary today. Many thanks! Thank you very much for your continued support! There will be a third round of performances of the play, and wait for the rest!”

We publish this at the time noting that the marked fragment refers to a possible next announcement. However, we must review what happened next, as the account made a new publication a day later accompanied by some hashtags. Another day later, the account made a new post, again accompanied by simple hashtags of the franchise. And so the next day and even today.
Have you noticed what the fans found out yet? Turns out there is a new finger raised on every new daily post! In today’s post, the illustration features a total of five extended fingers. What will come next? Will the six fingers continue or will the long-awaited announcement finally arrive, which to date is not clear what it will be? At the moment we just have to wait, but fans of the franchise cannot contain their excitement.
ONE published the original manga through Shogakukan publisher’s Ura Sunday magazine between April 2012 and December 2017, compiling the work into a total of sixteen volumes. The twelve-episode animated adaptation was produced by BONES Studios, directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa and scripts written by Hiroshi Seko, released in July 2016. A thirteen-episode second season featured the same production team and was released in January. of 2019.
Synopsis of Mob Psycho 100
Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama, an eighth grade student, has tapped into his inner source of psychic prowess at a young age. But power quickly proves to be a drag when he realizes the potential danger in his abilities. By choosing to suppress his power, Mob’s only current use of his ability is to impress his longtime crush, Tsubomi, who soon grows bored of the same tricks.
To exert control over his abilities, Mob enlists himself under the wing of Arataka Reigen, a con artist claiming to be a psychic, who exploits Mob’s powers for pocket change. Now, exorcising evil spirits in order has become part of Mob’s monotonous daily life. However, the psychic energy that he exerts is just the tip of the iceberg; If his vast potential and his unbridled emotions run wild, it will unleash a cataclysmic event that would render him completely unrecognizable. The progression towards the Mob explosion is increasing and trying to stop it is futile.
