Elon Musk’s start-up Neuralink is developing a device that will allow you to listen to music without headphones. The main objective of this device will be to create an interface between the brain and the computer to help humans track the evolution of artificial intelligence.
Always at the forefront and with a desire to break barriers, Elon Musk mentioned for days that in the future it may be possible to listen to music without headphones. Neuralink, a Musk start-up, is developing a device that, through a chip implanted in the brain, could allow a person to listen to music, among other possibilities.
After being asked by a Twitter user if the Neuralink chip could allow listening to music, Elon Musk replied with a simple “Yes”.
However, it should be noted that the objectives of Neuralink – and the device that is being developed – are much more ambitious than this.
The initial purpose of Neuralink’s technology is to help mitigate neurological disorders that have significant impacts on mobility and normal day-to-day functions, as reported by Tech Crunch.
But the company’s ultimate goal is to develop an interface between the brain and the computer that allows humans to interact at the speed of thought with computerized devices. In this way, human beings will be able to keep pace with the evolution of artificial intelligence.
The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX has stressed on several occasions that he believes that a unregulated and uncontrolled advance of artificial intelligence represents an existential risk for humanity.
Neuralink promised to make disclosures about the advances in its technology on August 28.
