Square Enix decided to make a Christmas stream aimed at all fans of the NieR franchise. As many expected, the company shared some announcements about NieR: Automata, the latest installment in the series.
The studio took advantage of the broadcast to talk once again about the successful sales of the game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It is worth remembering that NieR: Automata surpassed 4 million copies sold in June of last year.
Although the game has slowed its sales rate considerably, it has already achieved a new commercial record. Partly because of this, Square Enix is preparing new projects related to the game, including a manga adaptation.
Square Enix to celebrate NieR: Automata sales with manga
The company revealed that NieR: Automata has already sold more than 5 million copies globally. This figure includes both physical sales and digital downloads on all platforms. Square Enix wants to explore the game universe from a new perspective, so prepare a manga.
According to the details, the publication will be in the hands of Megumu Soramichi, an artist who participated in the first adaptation of Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry, known as Chivalry of a Failed Knight, as well as in Zombieland Saga.
The company did not reveal more information about the manga for now, but did present one of the first arts of the publication. In it we see 2B, protagonist of NieR: Automata, brandishing a sword.
