Rockstar remains interested in offering single player experiences

El Golpe a Cayo Perico's debut could be a nod to what's to come in Grand Theft Auto 6

After Grand Theft Auto IV was enriched with expansions that even surpassed the base game, many thought that the same would happen with Grand Theft Auto V. However, those who wished it were left waiting for something that never came, as Rockstar bet for the online component, Grand Theft Auto Online, which ended up being a resounding success. Although this has raised concerns about the direction that the following games could take, specifically Grand Theft Auto, it seems that the single-player content will remain in force.

Despite the success of GTA Online, Rockstar will bet on the single player experience

During an interview conducted by GQ Magazine on the occasion of the launch of The Heist of Cayo Perico, the huge new update for GTA Online, Tarek Hamad, director of design and production of the franchise, spoke about the conjunction of the experiences for single player and the multiplayer components. In that sense, the creative pointed out that although GTA Online opened new creative paths, Rockstar will remain committed to the single player experience: “we want to respect the teams and players who want to play cooperatively. But at the same time, it still allows Solo players keep getting an equally valid experience. I think you can see that with GTA Online and I think in the future we’re going to inject more of that single-player element there. ”
