The speculation started when a TikTok user, @klarissa.mpeg, claimed that her friend saw the singers getting cozy. The user shared a screenshot of the message, which stated that Gomez and Malik “just walked into (undisclosed location) hand in hand, making out and I seated them.” The TikTok user also pointed out that the singers follow each other on Instagram.

Another eyewitness has also come forward, telling Entertainment Tonight that they saw the two singers together in SoHo in New York City, holding hands and kissing. “It seemed like they were comfortable together, and it was clear that it was a date,” the source said.

As of now, neither Gomez nor Malik has confirmed or denied the dating rumors. Gomez was previously rumored to be dating Andrew “Drew” Taggart of The Chainsmokers, but she denied this on Instagram, saying that she is single and enjoys being alone. However, she was later spotted holding hands with Taggart outside a restaurant. Malik’s last public relationship was with American model Gigi Hadid, with whom he shares a daughter.
