Renowned animator Takahiko Abiru, recognized for having been in charge of character design and animation direction in Vinland Saga, as well as animation direction in Hunter x Hunter, Ushio to Tora and Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season, published a curious update on Twitter:
“I have continued my participation in the production of” Shingeki no Kyojin “, and I will also participate in” Mahoutsukai no Yome (The Ancient Magus Bride “as one of the staff members of Studio KAFKA. But there is other work that I have more to do. My most important project, you already know it. Today I go back to plowing fields.”
Have continued to involve in the production of “Attack on Titan.” And I will also participate in “The Ancient Magus Bride” as one of the Studio KAFKA staff. But there is another work that I have to do the most. My most important work, you know.
I plow fields again today.

The final sentence, “Today I plow fields again”, is possibly a direct reference to the project based on the manga written and illustrated by Makoto Yukimura, Vinland Saga, specifically to the second story arc of the original manga. It should be noted that the animated adaptation of twenty-four episodes issued in 2019 only adapted the prologue of the work.
Yukimura began publishing the manga in Kodansha publisher’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in April 2005, and subsequently moved it to Monthly Afternoon magazine in December 2005. The work inspired a 24-episode anime adaptation produced by Wit Studio, directed by Shuuhei Yabuta and scripts written by Hiroshi Seko and Kenta Ihara, released in July 2019
Vinland Saga Synopsis
Thorfinn, son of one of the greatest warriors of the Vikings, is among the best fighters of the mercenary band of mercenaries led by the cunning Askeladd. However, Thorfinn is not part of the group due to the looting involved, instead, for having caused a great tragedy to his family, the boy has promised to kill Askeladd in a fair duel. Thorfinn spends his childhood with the mercenary crew, honing his skills on the battlefield among the Danes, where killing is just another pleasure in life.
One day, when Askeladd receives news that the Danish prince Canute has been taken hostage, he hatches an ambitious plan: one that will decide the next king of England and drastically alter the lives of Thorfinn, Canute and his own. Set in the 11th century in Europe, Vinland Saga tells a bloody epic in an era where violence, madness and injustice are inescapable, providing a haven for the battle-maddened hell and the rest of those who live in it.
