Xiaomi starts accepting payments in Bitcoin

The Chinese tech giant will start trading cryptocurrencies in its stores in Portugal.

Xiaomi, the Chinese technology giant, joins the crypto market, but far from its country of origin. The cell phone manufacturer announced that it will accept bitcoin (BTC) as a payment method in its stores located in Portugal. In addition, payments with ether (ETH), dash (DASH) and tether (USDT) will also be available.

The news, announced by the official Facebook account of MyStore Portugal – a Xiaomi retailer – comes after the partnership between the firm and the exchange Utrust. As part of the partnership, payments in Utrust Token (UTK) will also be available.

“Mi Store Portugal, Xiaomi’s official retailer, now accepts crypto payments! Xiaomi is the second largest phone manufacturer in the world, and now its local branch is accepting the money of tomorrow”, they announced from Utrust through Twitter.
