Synopsis of Blue Lock

The story begins with the elimination of the Japan National Team from the 2018 FIFA Soccer World Cup, prompting the Japan Soccer Union to initiate a training program to prepare a team of high school students who will participate in the 2022 World Cup. Isagi Yoichi, a forward, receives an invitation to join this program shortly after his team misses an opportunity to participate in Nationals, due to passing the ball to his less skillful teammate, who obviously he missed the shot, denoting Isagi’s cowardice by not daring to finish the play by himself.

His coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who intends to end the idea of “weak Japan in soccer” by applying a radical new training regimen: isolate 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called “Blue Lock”, and subdue them to rigorous training that will create “the greatest, most talented and selfish striker in the world.”
