Olivier Grabette, Deputy CEO of Europe’s largest electric transmission utility RTE, understands the impact that AI-Simulation Technology can have on strategic asset management.

“Using Cosmo’s approach and their platform we were able to simulate hundreds of scenarios and compare different strategies,” he explains. “We were able to reduce by 10 to 15% the number of conflicts between resources.”

For a business that is set to invest €33 billion in its 100,000km transmission network over the coming 15 years, such savings are significant and point to the value of simulation analytics for strategic asset management.

“Our first results show that we were able to optimize the cost of asset investment while maintaining the same level of service for our customers,” adds Grabette.

With help from Cosmo Tech, RTE has been able to develop an optimized, transparent, and justifiable tariff case to stakeholders, including the national electricity regulator.
